ODEON THEATER: THREE incredible musicians are scheduled for this Fall:
October 29: JOHNNY NICHOLAS--Johnny is the proprietor of the wildly popular HillTop Cafe located about 10 mi. N. of Fredericksburg where he plays regularly. His new album, FUTURE BLUES is amazing--a Grammy nomination could be in his future. I'm just saying...I think it's that good.
November 19: SLAID CLEAVES--I've not heard Slaid, but friends who are huge fans tell me he is not only talented but a great entertainer. I can't wait to hear him.
December 2: BRUCE ROBISON AND KELLY WILLIS--who hardly need an introduction--just great musical talent.
All concert proceeds benefit the Odeon Preservation Society (a 501c-3 Corp.) It's an intimate setting--only 200 seats--always fun. You are welcome to bring your favorite beverage, and the Theater concession stand will also be open. These performances should be sellouts so make your reservations ASAP. Contact Dennis and K. UPDATE: First--the WEATHER: It's amazing--cool. Such a relief after a long hard summer. Mason and Llano River area lost lots of vegetation and trees. The unyielding heat and drought just baked it like bread forgotten in the oven. We'll have to wait until next Spring to see if what looks dead is really dead. Perhaps we can think of it like pruning--or thinning out--and what we saved will be enough and what we lost created space for new growth. Recent rain last week gave the river a lift--I think the Llano may be the only Hill Country river that has had uninterrupted flow. Good news is I haven't seen or heard of any fish kill.
