October 23, 2011 Weather on the Llano

UPDATE: First--the WEATHER: It's amazing--cool. Such a relief after a long hard summer. Mason and Llano River area lost lots of vegetation and trees. The unyielding heat and drought just baked it like bread forgotten in the oven. We'll have to wait until next Spring to see if what looks dead is really dead. Perhaps we can think of it like pruning--or thinning out--and what we saved will be enough and what we lost created space for new growth. Recent rain last week gave the river a lift--I think the Llano may be the only Hill Country river that has had uninterrupted flow. Good news is I haven't seen or heard of any fish kill.
